The Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) kicked off yesterday as thousands of bicyclists made their way from Onawa to the first overnight stop in Denison.
Today Greene County will be in the spotlight, as Jefferson is the second overnight stop on the route. Greene County Chamber and Tourism Interim Director Michael Reese says RAGBRAI is the perfect opportunity to showcase the other amenities that Greene County has to offer.
“We have so many things to offer in Greene County right now as far as our attractions. And we also want to show-off the momentum that the community has. It’s not so far fetched to say a handful of these people will be back to explore Jefferson. We always have the opportunity to really impress people enough where they may want to come and actually put tent stakes down here.”
Reese adds that it’s going to be a great opportunity for visitors to provide a local economy boost for the day as well.
