Perry principal Ryan Marzen is in the hunt for an invitation to attend the coveted Ironman World Championships in Hawaii October 13th. The World Championship is earned by invitation only through a series of qualifiers held across the country. The NBC Show broadcast live during the event as the top athletes from the world gather for the event. The Ironman race is considered one of the grueling endeavors an athlete can take on. It involves a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26 mile marathon race. The three events are ran consecutively without a break.
Marzen is entering his second year as the Perry Elementary co-principal with Ned Menke. He just competed this past weekend in the Ohio 70.3 and plans to race in the Chattanooga Ironman later this fall.
