The Perry Historic Preservation Commission and Hometown Heritage just announced that the late Dallas “Pete” VanKirk will be the next member of the Wall of Witnesses.

VanKirk will be the 25th honoree for the Wall, which is located in Soumas Court. He was chosen from a list of nominees submitted by members of the public, which was voted on by the Commission. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for September 27th, where a ceramic relief sculpted by Rick Stewart of Newton will be unveiled. The Wall of Witness honors individuals who have had a positive impact on the Perry community. Any nominees not chosen will be automatically considered in subsequent years.
