Former Perry girls basketball coach Chris Morrow was proud of certain accomplishments after serving as the head coach for one full season. Morrow inherited a tough situation taking over a program late in the summer with low numbers for participation.
“When I got here last August, Perry’s numbers for basketball were pretty low,” stated the Pure Prep Academy Director. “Last year, we were able to improve our numbers in a short amount of time and actually field a freshman and junior varsity team to go along with our varsity squad. We were able to get girls to come out and try playing the sport and I thought that was a big positive. I know I certainly appreciate all of the hard work they put in.”
Morrow is certainly destined to be a coach again but says it will have to be the right time and the right fit.
“As I look at taking aspects away from my Perry experience, I think the biggest thing is to learn to be more open. I have done the same things for a good number of years and those were successful but if I honestly step back and evaluate, I think it might be better to be more open and listen and learn from the players.”
The search for a new Perry girls coach has started.
