Building on the previous season’s successes is always the goal of any high school sports program. Arguably, the sports squad with the most success last fall at ADM Community Schools was the Tigers cross country programs. ADM head cross country coach David Zwank recently recapped his successful 2017 campaign during an interview with the Raccoon Valley Radio Network. “It’s always easy to remember competing in the state (cross country) meet,” Zwank said, “A lot of ways that we as people judge programs is that postseason success and I probably got that way sometimes too. Certainly, that’s a fun part of a varsity level competition.”

The ADM boys cross country squad qualified as a unit for the Iowa State Cross Country meet last November in Fort Dodge for the first time since 2006. ADM placed 14th out of the 15 teams competing at state with 282 points. Incoming senior Sadie Jurgens also represented ADM in the girl’s state race in Fort Dodge as an individual runner. The preseason practice period for the ADM cross country teams began on Monday. The 2018 competition season opens Saturday, September 1, for the ADM Cross Country teams at the Urbandale Cross Country Invitational.
