Jefferson Fire Department

A fire at a Jefferson business causes extensive damage early Tuesday morning.

Jefferson Fire Chief Jack Williams says around 4:30am, the Jefferson and Grand Junction Fire departments, along with the Jefferson Police Department, the Greene County Sheriff’s office and the Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to a structure fire at Power Lift. Williams points out the fire started in the north center part of the facility and there was extensive damage done. No one was in the building at the time of the incident and no one was hurt. Fire crews were able to put out the flames. Williams adds that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Power Lift General Manager Chris Conner tells Raccoon Valley Radio the main office is closed until further notice and the business operations are going on as normal. He adds that they are working with the State Marshal’s office as they conduct their investigation into the cause of the fire.
