GCC-Spring/SummerThe Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board conducted a public hearing on rezoning of a property in Herndon from Agriculture Production to Heavy Industrial.  The property is located just east of the intersection at highways 4 and 141. According to County Auditor Marci McClellan, about half a dozen residents were present to voice their opinions on the matter. Following the hearing, the Board approved the first reading of the ordinance to reclassify the property and amend the zoning map. There will be subsequent readings on the ordinance at future meetings.

The Board then heard the job duties and responsibilities of Breanna Morman, Coordinator for Disability Services for Guthrie County in the Heart of Iowa Community Services Mental Health Region. McClellan said the Board is overall very pleased with the job Morman is doing to improve mental health services in the County.

The Board also discussed the transferring of funds for the County Conservation Board. The Board requested McClellan to draft a resolution to transfer $12,604.91 to Conservation. The resolution will be an action item at a future meeting.

Supervisor Everett Grasty also informed the Board that Midwest Partnership is considering allowing the City of Coon Rapids to join Midwest Partnership, even though the city is primarily in Carroll County, which is not currently in the economic development region. No formal action was taken following the discussion.
