Two local schools in Greene County are participating in a regional contest for grant funds.

Paton-Churdan and Greene County Middle School are seeking votes in the Imagine the Amazing grant program with UnityPoint Health. All kindergarten through 12th grade non-profit public and private schools in Iowa, along with those counties that are served by UnityPoint in Illinois, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin are eligible to enter. The contest is simple in that the school with the most votes by the end of September will receive $25,000 and ten runner-up schools will win $1,000.

Grant funds are to be used to enhance the well-being of students, teachers, or a learning environment with a health and wellness tie. Awards will be given the week of October 8th.
