Adel City Council 8-14

The Adel City Council will convene Tuesday evening in regular session.

The meeting will get started with a public hearing regarding the proposed 2018 street resurfacing project for the City. Later in the meeting, the Council will consider a resolution to adopt the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for the project, as well as awarding the construction contract. Also in new business, the Council will discuss the Budget Committee and Economic Development Commission recommendations to move forward with an agreement to set up Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for the Southbridge Planned Urban Development (PUD). They will also approve a letter to be sent to Dallas County, indicating the City has no current plans to use or repair the Old Wagon Wheel Bridge.

Other items on the agenda include: eight items related to the waste water treatment plant and issuance of $16 million in water revenue capital loan notes; six items related to the $6 million sanitary sewer improvement project; a change order and pay estimate for the City’s emergency water connection project; and budget transfers for City Attorney services. The meeting will conclude with a possible closed session to evaluate City Administrator Anthony Brown. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
