Her first season on the collegiate soccer pitch has seen 2016 Adel-Desoto-Minburn graduate Sydney Bertman become her squad’s top goal scorer. Bertman, originally a Grand View University women’s basketball recruit, joined the Lady Vikings women’s soccer program this fall. Bertman contributed to Grand View’s homecoming victory over the weekend against the Peru State Bobcats. Tied at one, Bertman found the back of the net with 11 minutes remaining to help the Lady Vikings top the Wildcats, 2-1. She currently leads Grand View with five total goals in 12 matches played. Bertman and the Grand View University women’s soccer program is in Atchison, Kansas today for a Heart of America Conference match versus the Benedictine College Ravens. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
