On this Sports Page we look at pass receiving and scoring during the 2018 high school football season for the Greene County Rams. Coach Mitch Moore’s team flipped a 1-8 record in 2017 into an 8-1 regular season mark, a Class 2A playoff appearance, and a final record of 8-2.

Leading the scoring was senior Clint Dennhardt. The running back/quarterback scored 116 points on 15 rushing touchdowns, four receiving TDs, and a two-point conversion. Junior running back Colby Kafer scored 60 points on 10 touchdowns, eight rushing and two receiving. Junior kicker Cael Fisher was next with 53 points. He went 38 of 43 on extra points and five for five on field goal attempts including a career long from 39 yards in the playoff loss to Benton Community. Fisher was four of four on field goals in the last two games of the season.

Leading the receivers was junior Carter Morton. He caught 36 passes for 800 yards and seven touchdowns. Morton averaged 22.2 yards per catch, and his 42 points scored were fourth highest on the team. Senior Lance Hughes was fifth in scoring with 32 points. He had five TD receptions and a two-point conversion among his 19 receptions for 446 yards, a team best 23.5 yards per catch average. Senior Trey Hinote had 29 catches, 399 yards (13.8 ave.) and two touchdown catches, while Dennhardt had 23 catches, for 201 yards and four TDs. In all, eight Rams had at least one touchdown catch.
