A former Yale and Bayard City Clerk charged with several felonies for allegedly misappropriating funds during her tenure has a plea hearing scheduled for later this month.

According to court documents, Renee Van Gundy originally pled not guilty on September 4th to two counts of first degree theft, two counts of using a credit card for the purpose of obtaining property or services with knowledge that use of the card was unauthorized, and one count of forgery. These findings came from a report from State Auditor Mary Mosiman which stated the amount of misappropriated funds totaled over $60,000 from the two communities during her employment as city clerk from January 2008 to January 2016. The report indicated the funds went towards largely personal purchases at various vendors and personal utility bills. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
