Perry head coach Matt Hardy knows that he must increase the participation for high school football if the Bluejays are to reverse their fortunes from this past 0-9 campaign. Hardy will talk with local community members on trying to find the best option for getting youth football popular once again in the city. Hardy feels the sport must be fun for young kids if they are going to give it a shot and continue to play through high school. “Obviously, at the younger age level, everybody wants to throw, run or catch the football. Not too many kids want to be a lineman. We have to make sure we keep the sport fun at those young ages because that’s when kids either fall in love with the sport or choose something else.”
Perry held their end of season banquet Tuesday night.
