Potential for winter weather is a strong possibility this weekend for the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Dallas and Guthrie counties from Saturday night into Sunday. Snow totals expected for Dallas and Guthrie counties could be as high as six-inches and as high as three-inches for Greene County. Threats with the winter storm watch include moderate to heavy snowfall, winds gusting as high as 40-miles-per-hour, which could cause periods of blowing snow.

Snowfall could impact travel conditions, causing snow-covered and slick roadways. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides updated road condition information, as well as cancellation and postponement information during the winter weather season.
