Adel City Council 8-14

The Adel City Council will convene Tuesday evening in regular session.

The meeting will begin with two public hearings. The first will be regarding an update to the City’s flood plain ordinance and map, as required by the Department of Natural Resources. The second will focus on a new tower lease agreement between the City and AT&T. Following the hearings, the Council will consider approval of resolutions related to each. Also in new business, they will hold the first reading of an amendment to an ordinance which would reduce the speed limit on Meadow Road between Highway 169 and South 15th Street to 35 miles-per-hour.

The Council will also consider the approval of an application to the Iowa Great Places to certify the Raccoon River Valley Trail and fund $10,000 for the Chamber of Commerce’s trail committee project. Following that, they will have discussion and possible action on either expiring or extending the 28E agreement between the City and county for the Adel-Dallas County Public Corporation. Other items on the agenda include: a bond counsel engagement agreement with Ahlers and Cooney for the issuance of $1.2 million in sewer revenue capital loan notes; two items related to storm water revenue capital loan notes; six items related to the $16 million in water revenue capital loan notes for water projects; four items on the $6 million in sewer revenue capital loan notes for sewer projects; the annual urban renewal report, and other Tax Increment Finance (TIF) related items; and an assortment of change orders and pay estimates for storm water utility improvement projects.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at Adel City Hall.
