Potential for winter weather is slated this weekend for parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Greene County starting tonight through Sunday morning. Threats with the winter storm include freezing rain, sleet and snow tonight, turning into mostly heavy snowfall with high winds tomorrow. There could also be a chance of light ice accumulations as well. Parts of Greene County could see as high as four-inches of snowfall, whereas Dallas and Guthrie counties may see less than one-inch this weekend. Ice accumulations could be as much as .02-inch in Greene County.

With the threat of winter weather, it could have an impact on road conditions, making travel difficult and the road to become very slick. Remember, if motorists see plow crews out, give them plenty of room to clear the roads. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides cancellation and postponement information, as well as road condition updates during severe winter weather.
