The Jefferson Police Department responded to a lockdown at Greene County High School Wednesday morning.

Police Chief Mark Clouse tells Raccoon Valley Radio, just after 10am his officers were notified by high school officials about an “uncooperative student” and that school administration had initiated a lockdown of the building. Clouse says when the officers entered the building, they went to the industrial technology area where the incident was taking place.

Clouse notes the student had refused to do anything that the teacher and administration wanted him to do to resolve the situation. Clouse says school administration had requested that the officers transport the student to the law enforcement center where he could be picked up by his parents. Officers complied with the request and the lockdown was lifted shortly after the student was escorted out of the school building. Clouse adds that no one was hurt in the incident and the student is not facing any additional action from the police department.

Calls to the school district have not been returned.
