The first wrestling tournament of the season saw multiple Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers grapplers take top honors in their respective weight classes Saturday. The Tigers competed in the annual DCG Mustang Invitational in Grimes hosted by Dallas Center-Grimes Community Schools. Three ADM wrestlers ended the day atop the podium in their respective weight classes including senior Andrew Flora (126), senior Nolan Harsh (182), and junior Kaden Sutton (220). Flora tallied two decision wins, a technical fall, and a pinfall victory on his way to the championship. Harsh recorded three first period pinfalls and one decision win to claim the title. Sutton registered three pinfall victories and one decision win on Saturday. Other ADM wrestlers who placed at Saturday’s DCG Mustangs Invitational include senior Hogan Hopewell (132) in fourth place, senior Kolten Benz (138) in fifth place, junior Broderick Schmidt (152) in sixth, with senior Caleb Buse (145) and Justice Paulsen (195) in eighth place. The ADM varsity wrestling season continues Thursday, traveling to Gilbert for a triangular event against the Greene County Rams and the Gilbert Tigers.
