Both Greene County boys’ basketball home games on the young season have resulted in the visiting team topping 90 points. The Rams opened the 2018-19 campaign with a 96-91 win over Ogden last week, but last night Gilbert rolled to a 95-61 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference victory on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The Rams fell to 0-2 in the conference and 2-2 overall while the Tigers are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the HOIAC.

Gilbert had four players score in double figures and two others had nine points. They shot 595 from the floor and were 20 of 29 from the free throw line. Jeff Rudman came off the bench to score 18 points and Matt Ockey added 16.

The Rams played their first full game without leader scorer Trey Hinote due to a severe ankle sprain in a loss to South Hamilton last Friday at Jewell. Carter Morton equaled his career high with 24 points and Cael Fisher came off the bench to add 11. Morton made four three-point goals and Fisher had three from long range. The Rams were 16 of 27 from the foul line. Lance Hughes and John Rosado both had nine points and both fouled out.
