While the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity girls basketball team clawed their way to a four-point overtime victory last Friday against Ballard, the Bombers showed the Tigers areas they need to improve on. The Bombers full-court pressure defense committed 15 steals against the Tigers. Taking better care of the basketball was an area of improvement Tiger head basketball coach Jacob Cleveland talked about in his postgame interview with Raccoon Valley Radio. “Obviously, you saw what a little pressure can do to us,” Cleveland said, “I know we had about 14 turnovers in the first half and maybe the same amount in the second. So we got to work on that.”

Cleveland and the Tigers are out to a 3-1 start as they travel south on Highway 169 tomorrow for a Raccoon River Conference rivalry match against the Winterset Huskies. The Huskies, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s preseason Class 4A No. 15 team, are struggling as of late.
