An Ames woman was cited after a vehicle rollover incident near Stuart Sunday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol at about 9:04 a.m. 22-year-old Rashmi Kuntala was driving a Ford Fusion westbound on Interstate 80 near mile marker 89 in the left lane when she noticed she was going too fast. She attempted to use the brakes to slow down but the brakes weren’t working. Kuntala stated that she panicked and jerked the steering wheel to the right. She then entered the north ditch, rolling the car several times, and struck an Iowa Department of Transportation informational sign.
