Friday resumes Raccoon River Conference basketball action all across the region and the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity squads are near the top of the league standings entering the new year. The ADM girls basketball team sit alone in the league’s top spot, winning the first five games of their 14 game annual conference season. The Ballard Bombers, who lost 52-48 in overtime to ADM in Adel on November 30, is second in the league pecking order with a 3-1 record. There’s currently a logjam for third place with the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays, the Boone Toreadors, and the Winterset Huskies all winning two of their first four league games.

The Raccoon River Conference boys basketball standings have the Carroll Tigers sitting alone in first place, winning their first four league contests. The ADM Tigers, who lost to Carroll, 58-51, in Adel on December 18, have the league’s second-best record at 4-1. The Ballard Bombers, who lost to ADM, 69-54, on November 30, hold down the third spot with a 3-1 mark. The Winterset Huskies are the conference’s fourth-best team winning two of their first four league games.
