When the Greene County Rams begin the 2019 portion of their season this Thursday in Ogden, they’ll have one month of the regular season remaining. First year head coach Zach Beekman’s squad hasn’t been full strength yet, but has managed to put together a 10-7 dual meet record.

Senior Bryce Hoyle told Raccoon Valley Radio he’ll wrestle for the first time this season on Thursday when the Rams face the host Bulldogs, Southeast Valley (Gowrie), and Audubon. The Rams also are in action on Friday in a tournament hosted by North Polk in Alleman. Hoyle said he plans on wrestling both days after missing the first half of the season due to mononucleosis. He comments about the team heading into January. “Seeing who we’ve become from where we started, I think once we get the lineup set in stone, people are going to notice who we are, and that we have a pretty good team.”

The top three seniors returning from last year have all missed time on the mat this season. Brock Wuebker at 170 lbs. has the top record on the team at 12-1. Clint Dennhardt at 182 lbs. is 8-3, and Hoyle, who was 21-13 as a junior, hasn’t wrestled yet.
