The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center has announced the winners of their 18th Annual Festival of Trees.

Community members, civic organizations, and businesses put up decorated trees last month with the theme of “Glowing in the Winter Darkness.” Library patrons voted for their favorite tree, and taking first place this year were the Healthy Opportunities for Parents to Experience Success (HOPES) and Babies Nest programs. The library’s Lego Club received second place, and the Clover Kids received third place. The three groups received cash prizes given by a generous donor. The Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library thanks everyone who participated in making it a successful event. If you wish to get a leg up on the competition next year, the chosen theme is “Simple Gifts.”
