A desperation three-point shot sunk the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity boys basketball team Tuesday night. Pella sophomore Grant Nelson caught a full-court pass from teammate Ryan Gustafson and banked in a 27-foot shot from the left wing as time expired, helping the Little Dutch top ADM, 65-63. The last eight minutes saw the teams trade the lead seven times and the contest was tied five others in the final quarter. Sophomore Nate Mueller scored 18 of his team-high 22 points in the fourth quarter, adding seven assists and three rebounds in the setback. ADM had an anemic offensive start to the contest with three points tallied in the first quarter. It’s the second loss this season for ADM in Pella, dropping their overall record to 7-3. The ADM boys basketball team returns to the floor Friday at home for a Raccoon River Conference doubleheader against the Boone Toreadors.
