The 100+ People for Perry organization will be holding their first donation meeting of 2019 this Monday, and they are looking to increase their members in the new year.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Cellar at La Poste. After a social time, three random projects will be selected for consideration, with members presenting them. After that, the members will vote, and each will donate $100 to the selected project. The goal of 100+ People for Perry is to invest in the City’s future and enhance the quality of life for residents. To that end, the organization makes four large donations a year, each of which will fund the project of a nonprofit group that operates solely in the Perry community.

To date, the group has pledged $80,600 to 12 different projects. Last year they chose to support the Perry Alano Club, the Nudgers Group, Art on the Prairie, and the Perry Police Association. No prior membership in the group is required to attend the meeting, though anyone interested is encouraged to reach out to organizers Mark Powell at 515-465-4641 or mpowel@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us, or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com. Any members that can’t attend Monday’s meeting can drop off their check at the Finneseth, Dalen, and Powell Law Firm.
