The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference has named its Academic All-Conference recipients for boys’ basketball. Three Greene County players received the recognition. They are Cole Betts, Cael Fisher, and Carter Morton. All three are juniors. To be eligible for All-Conference academic recognition, a player must be a junior or senior and have a minimum 3.25 cumulative Grade Point Average on a 4.00 scale.

Greene County Head Coach Chris Nelson told Raccoon Valley Radio he was proud of those three, and added a number of other Rams were close to meeting the standard. Nelson also pointed out that students that are taking dual credit high school and college courses may have a more difficult time getting a high enough GPA for Academic honors. That may be a factor in Greene County having the fewest players earning the Academic honor. Five of the conferences eight schools had 10 or more boys hit the standard.
