A former Greene County resident, who is accused of killing an Iowa State University student, has had his jury trial pushed back.

According to court documents, the jury trial of 22-year-old Collin Richards has been delayed until September, and he has also waived his right to a speedy trial.

Richards has pled not guilty to a Class A Felony charge for first degree murder for allegedly killing Celia Arozamena.  Law enforcement agencies found the victim’s body at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames on September 17, 2018. Richards, who was homeless, was arrested by authorities after finding evidence near the scene. Richards was booked and remains in the Story County Jail. The new trial date is September 10th at the Story County Courthouse.
