None of the eight members of the Raccoon River Conference advanced to next week’s Iowa State Girls Basketball tournament, and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network is starting to dive into league’s final stats. The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers close the 2018-19 season as the scoring champions of the league, producing 1,317 points in 24 games or 54.9 points per game average. The Tigers tallied 300 or more points in each quarter this season, creating a conference-high 328 first-quarter and 352 fourth-quarter points. The Carroll Tigers were the next highest scoring team in the conference, registering 1,196 points in 23 games played. ADM had two players finish in the top 10 in individual scoring this winter. Junior point guard Abbie Hlas finished second in the league’s scoring race with 351 points, an average of 14.6 points per game. Junior forward Delaney Bertman ranked seventh in the conference scoring race with 288 points. The result is ADM’s best finish to a girls basketball season in recent memory, winning 15 of their 24 games played.
