Greene County High School junior Carter Morton set a career best and finished in second place in the high jump Tuesday inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls at the A.D. Dickinson Relays. The action was the first of the season for Morton and his teammates. He cleared 6′ 4″ to set a personal best by two inches and put himself in good position to qualify for the Drake Relays in Des Moines. Morton was also 21st in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.94 seconds.

There were two other top 25 performances by Greene County athletes at the very large, one class meet. Junior Tyler Miller was 20th in the shot put with a best toss of 44′ 5″, while freshman Nathan Black cleared 5′ 10″ in the high jump, good for 23rd place.

The Greene County girls competed inside the UNI-Dome on Monday at the Dickinson Relays. Top performances came from sophomore Brianna Osterson. She was 29th in the long jump at 15′ 1″, 30th in the 400 meter dash in 1:05.45, and 43rd in the 60 meter dash in 8.58 seconds.

No team score was kept either day.
