Monday marked the start of the 2019 Track and Field season at Panorama Community Schools. Seven varsity girls track athletes represented the Panthers at the 2019 Dickinson Relays hosted by the University of Northern Iowa. Panorama girls track coach Greg Thompson shares with the Raccoon Valley Radio Network that his team broke five indoor records in Cedar Falls this week. Senior Kassidy Bremer set two sprint records for Panorama, including the 60-meter dash at 8.5 seconds and 200-meter dash at 28.28 seconds. Senior Morgan Johnk broke her own 60-meter hurdle record, clocking a time of 9.65 seconds. Sophomore Ella Waddle holds the record for the fastest 1500 meter time, clocking her race in 5:23.92. Finally, the 4×800 meter team of sophomore Gwen Steffen, junior Lydia Lindstrom, sophomore Olivia Steffen, and Waddle are the new record holders after registering a time of 10:30.51.
