The Perry School District and the Perry Police Department investigated a potential threat Thursday evening, and it was deemed non-credible.

The details of the threat have not been made public, but Superintendent Clark Wicks assures people that at no time were the students and staff in any danger. He emphasizes that the District and the Police Department take any threats of violence very seriously, and they investigate them thoroughly. Wicks adds, fortunately the recent threat was not legitimate, and he happily reports that the students and staff are safe and schools are operating normally. He thanks the Perry Police Department as well as the Perry School Administration for how quickly they responded to and handled the potential threat.
