A Perry woman was involved in a single-vehicle wreck Wednesday afternoon in Minburn, and was sent to the hospital with potential hypothermia and minor injuries.

Dallas County Chief Deputy Adam Infante tells Raccoon Valley Radio that at around 3:45 p.m., a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Mavyn Bargas was travelling westbound on 195th Street into Minburn. Due to the foggy conditions, she didn’t slow down in time to take the sharp turn north onto 2nd Street. Her vehicle went into the ditch, flipped over, and came to rest in standing water. A reserve Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy came upon the accident and called for assistance. Bargas was trapped in the vehicle, which was also filling up with water, and two deputies were able to break a window to get her out. She was initially treated at the scene before being transported to a Des Moines hospital by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services. Her current condition is unknown, and there were no other injuries reported.

The Minburn First Responders and the Dallas Center Fire Department assisted at the scene.
