Calling it “the most fun meet of the year,” Greene County High School junior Carter Morton was referring to the Coed State Meet, an event he’s qualified for in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Morton went as a high jumper both in 2017 and ’18, and also in the 400 meter low hurdles last season. He has goals of getting there in multiple events this year, both as an individual and as a relay runner.

When asked about his State Meet experiences, the son of the Greene County head boys’ coach said, “It was different last year from freshman year because I was doing two events rather that one. It’s a good experience, it’s really fun and definitely the best meet of the year!

Morton and his teammates, along with the Greene County girls’ team, go to Storm Lake tomorrow for the Buena Vista University Coed High School Meet inside the Siebens Center. Morton cleared 6′ 4” in the high jump inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls last week in his only other meet so far this season.
