It’s no secret that most area school’s have started their 2019 Track and Field season, albeit indoor events, but it’s started, nonetheless. Except for one school; the West Central Valley Wildcats.

Just coming back from Spring Break, the West Central Valley Boys’ Track Coach, Eric Addy, feels like his team is in a really good spot heading into their season next week.

More practice and some decisions need finalized before the Earlham Invitational next Tuesday, like who will be that fourth piece on the 2018 State Qualifying 4×400 meter team with the graduation of Billy Larsen.

When asked about his team starting later than other schools, Addy said that he’d rather have the extra practice time so that his team is ready for the big dates on their schedule. Addy added that he believes his team is very deep with middle distance runners, but could struggle early in the field events with the loss of many key players from last year’s field event athletes.

Wildcats Boys’ Track and Field start their 2019 campaign in Earlham next Tuesday.
