The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board will likely have an open seat, with current Board member Kelli Book set to move out of the District.

At their most recent meeting, the Board discussed Book’s pending departure and how they plan on handling it. Superintendent Greg Dufoe says most likely they will appoint someone to fill the remainder of the term, set to expire in 2021. The other option would be to hold a special election, which can be requested by the public through a petition. Additionally, Book is currently the Board Vice President, so an existing member will also have to be selected to fill that position. As of now, Book is still on the Board, but she wanted to give the District plenty of notice before she’s expecting to leave later this spring.

In the meantime, anyone interested in serving on the ADM School Board is encouraged to reach out to the District Administration Office at 515-993-4283. The Board meets the second Monday of every month for regular sessions, and at various other times for special meetings, as needed.
