Greene County High School took a partial track & field squad to the ISU Classic girls’ track & field meet on Monday. The one-class event featuring hundreds of athletes and  more than 70 teams in a single class from all parts of the state was held inside the Lied Recreation Athletic Center on the Iowa State University Campus in Ames.

Coach Derek Merk’s Rams had a pair of top 20 finishes. Sophomore Brianna Osterson was 16th in the long jump with a best leap of 15′ 2″, and the 4 x 100 meter relay of senior Melanie Doran, junior Maddie Sigler, sophomore Makala Kafer, and Osterson, finished 19th in :54.57.

Finishing in the top 25 was senior Janelle Brophy in the long jump. She was 22nd in 14′ 8-3/4″, and sophomore Brooklynn Olson, 25th in the shot put at 32′ 1-1/2″. The sprint medley relay was 28th in 2:03.36 with Kafer, Sigler, Doran, and Osterson.
