Greene County sophomore Makala Kafer is a track & field State Meet veteran after running relays for the Rams in 2018 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Kafer and several of her classmates are talented track & field athletes and she talked about that with Raccoon Valley Radio. “We had a good group of girls coming up. We all worked really hard and all got to meet our goals our freshman year. We all continue to work toward our goals for our sophomore year.”

She was asked what her track & field goals for 2019 are. “I want to go to State with another relay again and experience that. Also, I would like other girls to have the opportunity of going to State and experience the atmosphere and how awesome it is there!”

Kafer is also a member of the Greene County girls’ soccer team, so she’ll have a busy spring.

The Rams are scheduled to host their Early Bird Coed Meet outdoors on the Linduska Field track on Monday, March 25. With warmer temperatures this week, the possibility exists the meet could be held as scheduled.
