While the snow may be mostly gone from the ground now, soggy conditions over the past week have still made it tough for high school golfers to prepare for their season. Panorama girls coach Melissa Hochstetler said she hoped to finally get her team on the course this week.

Hochstetler says not being able to get on the course has made it hard to judge the skills of her team, but she is optimistic about her four returning players. That group is made up of senior Taylor Raibikis, junior Alexandra Kurtz and sophomores Jordan Douglass and Abby Cobb. All four played at least some varsity last year and their coach says they’re all committed to learning and have a chance to drop several strokes compared to last year.

The Lady Panthers have 13 players in total signed up for golf this spring with the four returners joined by one junior, two sophomores and six freshmen. The new additions have varying levels of experience on the course but Hochstetler says they’re all motivated to learn and will make the team stronger.

The first competition of the season for Panorama will be April 1 against Madrid at Cedar Pointe.
