Governor Kim Reynolds sent a letter to President Donald Trump requesting access to grant funds for 57 counties through the expedited Presidential Major Disaster Declaration after recent flooding events.

Greene, Dallas, Guthrie and Adair counties are among the 57 counties in the request for public assistance funds through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to repair or replace public infrastructure that was damaged or lost in last week’s floods. Only Greene County was not included in the Governor’s State Disaster Declarations. The amount of damage estimated for public assistance was over $77 million, while the total amount of damage statewide was over $1.5 billion.

Both Iowa Senators Charles Grassley and Joni Ernst, along with Representative Cindy Axne have expressed their support of Reynolds’ letter to the president.
