A Grand Junction man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to a felony drug charge for a September 2018 incident.

According to court documents, 55-year-old Jerry Dean Barker pled guilty to a Class C Felony for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. As per his plea agreement, Barker was sentenced to serve up to ten years in prison and the state dismissed a Class D Felony for possession of a firearm by a felon.

The sentence stemmed from an incident on September 21st. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Barker’s home in the 700 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction. Several controlled substances were recovered including a substantial amount of methamphetamine and a firearm.

Barker was also ordered to pay a law enforcement surcharge, court costs, restitution and was given credit for time already served in the Greene County Jail.
