A former Greene County resident has been charged for allegedly throwing water on a United States Congressman.

According to court documents, 26-year-old Blake Gibbins of Lafayette, Colorado faces two misdemeanors for assault and disorderly conduct. Sources say Gibbins was at a restaurant in Fort Dodge on March 22nd and approached Representative Steve King, who was having lunch with a group of people. Gibbins asked King who he was, King replied and then Gibbins threw a glass of water on him.

Court documents show that a no contact order has been put in place between Gibbins and King. The Greene County School District confirms that Gibbins was a 2010 graduate of then Jefferson-Scranton High School. Raccoon Valley Radio has reached out to King for comment, but haven’t heard a response.
