track-and-field

The West Central Valley Boys’ Track and Field team competed twice last week on the road at East Union and then at Clarke.

On Tuesday, the Wildcats traveled to Afton for an Invitational at East Union High School. West Central Valley finished second on Tuesday, where they saw many teams that Head Coach, Eric Addy, and his Boys’ were unfamiliar with.

Then, on Thursday the Wildcats headed south to Clarke County in Osceola, where West Central Valley finished first in a Boys’ Track Invitational. WCV earned at total of 161 team points on Thursday, and saw two school records shattered by Senior, Cole Arnburg. Arnburg shattered his own record in the 400 meter dash, and also shattered his older brother’s previous record, in the 200 meter dash.

The West Central Valley Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field teams will both be competing tomorrow, for the second time in Earlham. Two weeks ago, West Central Valley, along with several other area high schools competed in an Early Bird Invitational in Earlham. The first events will begin tomorrow afternoon at 4:30.
