Wednesday morning the K-9 units of the Greene and Boone County Sheriff’s offices conducted unannounced drug searches in the Greene County School District.

Superintendent Tim Christensen tells Raccoon Valley Radio as per their policy the searches are unannounced, random and routine. The K-9 units searched the high school and middle school buildings, as well as the high school parking lot. Christensen says anytime there is a K-9 search, the buildings go into lockdown, where students are kept in the classrooms due to safety reasons.

Christensen thanks both Sheriff’s offices for their continued support of the school district and law enforcement’s efforts to eliminate drugs in schools, the county and the state.
