The Guthrie County Community Foundation has announced their 2019 grant recipients.

The foundation had a total of $144,772.05 to grant from the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines and Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. Recipients of the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation funds were the City of Stuart with $20,000 for their playground project, and the Guthrie County Fair Foundation with $23,047 for concrete in their new Art and Ag Hall and Lions Club and American Legion building. They also received $1,453 from the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines.

Guthrie Activity Center – $5,000 – technology updates
Main Street Guthrie Center – $11,542 – downtown speaker project
Guthrie County Hospital – $18,112.50 – fitness center equipment
Casey Library Betterment Association – $3,125 – Vindicator Digitalization
Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity – $6,250 – home repairs
