The ACGC girls and boys golf squads took to the links last week for a pair of competitions to close out the pre-Easter schedule.

The girls took the short trip to Coon Rapids Tuesday for a dual with the Crusaders. Junior Kena Baier tied with CR-B’s Sydney Honold for 2nd with a score of 51. Other shooters for the Chargers included:  junior Jessica Stringer (63), freshman Alyssa Byars (71), and freshman Morgan Lemke (78). CR-B won the dual with a team score of 207, while the Chargers finished with 263.

The boys team traveled to the Lake View Golf Course in Winterset on Friday for a triangular with Van Meter and Madrid. Senior McKlain Jorgensen tied for 2nd with a pair of Van Meter Bulldogs in shooting a 44. Other shooters for the Chargers included: sophomore Gunnar Larsen (51), sophomore Eli Kading (54), sophomore Nolan Wheatley (55) freshman Cael Hoing (56), and sophomore Nash Ayers (62). Van Meter won the triangular with a team score of 172. ACGC and Madrid tied for 2nd with 204 strokes.

Both squads continue their 2019 campaigns this afternoon at Sugar Creek Golf Course in Waukee in a triangular against Des Moines Christian and Earlham.
