The Greene County girls’ soccer team hosts Nevada at 5:30 p.m. in Grand Junction. Head Coach Marilyn Tasler’s Rams are 1-3 on the season and will be looking to upset the 4-1 Cubs, ranked sixth in 1A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

The Rams will take their track & field teams to Woodward today for the Woodward-Granger Coed Invitational. Starting time is 4:30 p.m. It remains to be seen if girls’ head coach Derek Merk and boys’ head coach Chad Morton decide to compete at full strength today. The Rams qualified six events (four for boys and two for girls) for the Drake Relays in Des Moines later this week.

Carter Morton (high jump) and Tyler Miller (shot put) both start their events at Drake Stadium on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Brianna Osterson long jumps at 5 p.m. Thursday. Colby Kafer will long jump at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The girls prelims of the 4 x 100 meter relay is at 9:30 Saturday morning with the boys’ 4 x 100 meter relay prelims around 10 a.m. The girls’ quartet is made up of Melanie Doran, Maddy Sigler, Makala Kafer, and Brianna Osterson. The four boys that qualified are Tyler Teeples, Morton, Brent Riley, and Kafer.
