A domestic altercation resulted in an arrest early Tuesday morning in Jamaica.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, at about 3:45 a.m. deputies responded to a 911 call from a victim in the 600 block of Main Street stating her common law husband 39-year-old Rodney Donald Holmes had threatened to kill her and burn her house down. Law enforcement moved the victim and her children to a safe location. Holmes allegedly started a piece of paper on fire and threw it on a pile of clothes, but it was put out by the victim before authorities arrived on scene.

Holmes was arrested and charged with first degree arson, a class B felony; and first degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor. Holmes was booked into the Guthrie County Jail where he remains under a $2,500 cash only bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
