Coach Heath Telleen’s Greene County High School boys’ golf season ended on Friday in a Class 3A Sectional Tournament at Majestic Hills Golf Course at Denison. The Rams were eighth among eight teams with 401 strokes for the 18 holes. Carroll won the event at 320 with Atlantic second 342, followed by Glenwood 343, ADM 344, Denison-Schleswig 348, Harlan 352, Creston 353, then Greene County.

Junior Jadon Block led the Rams with a round of 88. His nine holes scores were 41-47. The Rams took just four golfers to Denison. Other scores were 97 from sophomore Sawyer Schiltz, 103 for senior Cody Gilbertson, and 113 by freshman Caden Telleen.

The coach said he’s grateful for the efforts of the players, and he believes the returning players will put the time in this summer to improve. The 401 was the lowest 18 hole score this season for Greene County.

The Greene County girls are still playing regular season rounds. Just three girls went to Dayton for the Southeast Valley nine-hole tournament on Friday. Junior Ellie Madson shot 52 for runner-up medalist honors. Senior Mariah Block was next for the Rams and fifth overall at 62.
