Greene County fell to 3-10 in girls’ high school soccer after a 7-1 loss to Panorama in Grand Junction on Monday. The Panthers improved to 9-3 behind three goals from Ella Waddle and two from Audrey Cmelik. Paige Cmelik and Laci Rishel each scored once.

The Rams trailed 3-0 at halftime and were down 7-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the match when junior Ashlee Harmeyer scored to avoid the shut out. Coach Marilyn Tasler’s team plays Thursday in Carroll vs. Kuemper Catholic at 5 p.m. as the first half of a girl/boy doubleheader.

Coach Shawn Zanders’ girls’ golfers were third among four teams in a nine-hole quadrangular Monday at Winterset. Dallas Center-Grimes won with 191 strokes to 200 for the host Huskies. The Rams shot 237 and Perry was fourth.

Ellie Madson shot 48 to lead Greene County with Mariah Block at 56, Alexis Miller 61, and Trista Gierstorf 72. The regular season is over for the Rams and next is Class 3A regional play on Monday, May 20 at the Carroll Country Club.
